You Make Me Happy, When Skies Are Gray!

My Mom used to sing “You are my Sunshine” to me as a child, who knew I’d become an adult and take her literally?

Somehow my closet has turned into the sunniest spot in my home. Without even realizing it, YELLOW became my official color of summer 2021. It was my younger sister who pointed it out to me with a sarcastic “So all you buy is yellow now?” and “you like yellow so much you even painted your toes yellow??”

Yep, as I am typing this my toes are currently a bright bright yellow…and I love them!

But that got me thinking, how did this happen? I mean, I know I liked yellow previously but I didn’t really own a ton of yellow clothing so how did we get here? According to the psychology of the color yellow it’s uplifting, offers hope, happiness and is just FUN. Yellow feels like laughter and happiness to me. And I am all the way here for those feelings all day everyday!

2020 and the beginning of 2021 kept most of us in the house and if you were anything like me in a lot of sweat pants and leggings. I am hopeful and optimistic about what 2021 has left to deliver and I plan to be outside as much as possible to enjoy it.
